Dr. Leslie Arwin is shown above drawing the Motorcycle Onion. Dr. Arwin began her art training at Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan. After school, she worked at her parents' art gallery, the Arwin Galleries, where she was inspired by the other artists.

At the University of Michigan, Dr. Arwin studied History of Art and taught anatomy and life drawing. She earned a masters degree in Medical Illustration, learning to draw with meticulous attention to detail. After graduation, Dr. Arwin created illustrations for medical texts. She also created the Anatomical T-shirt designs featuring bones, muscles and other organs. These can be seen at Skeletees.

Dr. Arwin earned an MD in 1981, and an MPH, Masters of Public Health in Occupational Medicine, in 2001. Dr. Arwin's vegetable illustrations were selected by the James Beard Foundation for their Christmas show in New York in December of 1997. Her T-shirts were shown at the Phoenix Museum in Arizona. Her colored pencil drawings were featured in American Artist Drawing magazine in 2006.

Dr. Arwin works at the Ann Arbor VA Hospital where she performs disability exams for America's veterans, helping them to receive compensation for injuries or illnesses they experienced while serving their country.
